Skill intelligence certifies demonstrated competence at a defined operation and quality level, not attendance alone. A robust system links job standards, training, supervised practice, assessment, authorization, refreshers, versatility, safety, quality, and performance.
Execution procedure
- Define competency units by operation: method steps, machine setup, quality criteria, target range, safety, abnormal response, and required knowledge.
- Assess baseline skill and assign learning pathways by gap rather than giving identical training to every worker.
- Demonstrate, coach, practice under supervision, verify repeated correct cycles, and assess using observable evidence.
- Authorize workers for specific operations, machine classes, product risks, and skill levels with expiry or review rules.
- Monitor post-certification quality and productivity; retrain after prolonged absence, method change, recurring defect, or safety event.
Practical case
- A trainee reaches speed but creates intermittent seam twist. Certification remains pending while the coach corrects handling and feed control; speed alone is insufficient.
- Authorize only after repeated quality-compliant cycles and verify performance again in normal production.
Operational limits must follow the approved buyer specification, product risk assessment, legal requirements, and calibrated test method. The approved tech pack takes precedence over general guidance.
